NSA collects 200 million SMS every day, world wide according to whistle blower Edward Snowden.
Dishfire is the codename for the spyware that NSA uses to collect information such as contact networks, credit card information and other personal details.
NSA has been able to obtain information about people’s travel plans, economic transactions – even from people who are not suspected of any criminal offense. Through the collection, NSA has also received information about how people move across borders.
According to documents are NSA’s British counterpart GCHQ also using spyware.
NSA wrote in a statement to the Guardian that the safety authority only directs it´s performance against “lawful foreign intelligence targets”.
GCHQ writes in a statement that they never comment on security issues but that all work is done in accordance with the law.
